DAY 3, Mon This morning at leisure to explore Durnstein, surrounded by walls that climb up to the ruin of the Kuenringer Castle. There are also many well-kept burgher houses of the 16th to 18th centuries as well as the remains of the Klarissin Convent from the 14th century and the convent church which was built from in the 1720's. DAY 4, Tues Spend the independently in Vienna. You may choose to view the government offices on Ring Boulevard, the municipal park, Karl's square, the opera, the Hofburg, St. Stephen's Cathedral, and various museums. Cruise to Hungary (B, L, D): CRUISE

DAY 5, Wed Morning arrival in Esztergom for a brief stop. You may choose to visit the largest church in Hungary, modeled on St. Peter's in Rome and the remains of a former Royal Palace. Continue to Budapest (B, L, D): CRUISE

DAY 6, Thurs Morning arrival in Budapest. Enjoy a full day at leisure to tour the "Paris of the East," famous for sites such as Heroes' Square and the Parliament in Pest. In Buda, sites of interest are St. Mathias Church and Fisherman's Bastion and Gellert Hill, home of the Citadel and Liberation Monument. Afternoon departure for Bratislava (B, L, D): CRUISE

DAY 7, Fri Arrive this morning in Bratislava. Free time to explore this home to Kapituls Lane, where you can view the Theological Seminary and the Gothic Church of the Order of St. Clare. At Primate Square is the Primate's Palace, housing galleries of the works of famous European artists. In Hviedaslav Square, you can view the Opera House, the Ganymede Fountain and the concert hall. DAY 8, Sat This morning is at leisure to visit Melk, the home of the famous Benedictine Monastery. It is located on a 180 foot bridge, dominating the Danube, and is one of the most splendid examples of a baroque style building in Europe. Depart Melk for Grein, a Gothic city dating back to the 11th century. You may chose to explore the Greinburg Castle, a Franciscan Monastery and St. Giles, which was built in 1147. DAY 9, Sun This morning, arrive in Passau. Transfer to the airport in Munich for your departure flight (B).
