Nantucket Clipper

The Nantucket Clipper  measures 207 feet long, 37 feet wide, and has a draft of eight feet, making it ideally suited for cruising shallow waterways. The spacious Observation Lounge serves as the main gathering place for informal briefings and social gatherings. The window-lined dining room accommodates all guests in leisurely single open seatings. Healthy regionally influenced American food is served, with every dish individually prepared to order. Outside, you’ll find ample deck space and a promenade for viewing the passing scenery. An onboard naturalist and historian will explain and recap each day’s events in informal talks. The Nantucket Clipper has an all-American crew.

Tipping: The question of tipping aboard the ship often arises. We believe this is an individual decision. When such gratuities are extended, the amount should be based on the quality and manner of service. Tips to personnel are handled at the end of the cruise on a pooled basis. We suggest $10 per day per passenger. Gratuities may be extended with cash, traveler’s checks or personal checks.

Special Needs: Facilities may not be available for the disabled traveler. If you have special needs, please contact the Clipper home office. There is no elevator on the ship

Smoking Policy: To safeguard the health of our passengers, smoking is not allowed at any time in any interior areas of the ship, including the Dining Room, Observation Lounge, or passenger cabins. Smoking is permitted only on the outer decks.

Snorkeling Equipment: Snorkels, masks and fins are available to passengers free of charge on appropriate itineraries.

Gift Shop: Arts and Crafts from Clipper’s Ports of Call — Attractive and interesting items, including Clipper logo items, are on display in our gift shop, located on Lounge Deck midships.

Laundry: There is no laundry service aboard; please pack accordingly.

Lecture Staff:  Historians and/or naturalists will be aboard the Nantucket Clipper (on most itineraries) to explain the cultural and natural history of the places you visit and to enhance your enjoyment and appreciation of these destinations.

Library: A small library is located in the Observation Lounge and offers playing cards and a selection of books and games (checkers, cribbage, backgammon, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit and others).

Medical: Because you will be cruising in waters always within reach of American, Canadian or British medical facilities, a physician will not be on board the Nantucket Clipper.
